This simple recipe is a great alternative to turkey burgers. If you do not want to go through the hassle and frying of sweet and sour chicken but you love the flavor than this one is for you. This recipe is easy to make and can be stretched to serve as an appetizer for many or a meal for six. You can also use this recipe and keep the patties whole to serve on crescent rolls or hamburger buns if you prefer.


2 lbs Ground Turkey or Chicken

1 Diced Bell Pepper, Softened

1 Diced Onion, Softened

2 Finely Diced Carrots, Softened

2 Cups Cooked Rice

1 Egg

½ cup bread crumbs (or until the patties are the consistency that you desire)

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

Salt and pepper to taste


¾ cup sugar

4 tablespoon ketchup

1/2 cup white vinegar

1 tbs soy sauce


Grilled Pineapple


Tomato (optional)

Sauté the bell pepper, onion and carrots until softened. Then mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Form the mixture into patties and bake on 375 for about 20 minutes or until cooked through. Make sure you oil your baking sheet or use parchment paper for easy removal. After cooking you can cut or crumble the patties and roll them in the lettuce.  While the patties are cooking, mix together the sauce and bring to a light boil over medium heat. Serve with the wraps as a dip or apply before rolling.

The recipe should serve at least 6 people.
