What a great giveaway to enter for a want to be gardener. We have tried for the last 5 years. This year was the best. However, the weeds took over. It is usually the pest.

I use natural lavender oil mixed with water for a good smelling and non toxic mosquito repellent.
I want some mosquitofish! Too bad our pond either freezes in the winter or dries up long before then. We have 3 ducks and I don’t know if they eat mosquitoes but if they do they’re not doing their job! Instead they like to scavenge around in the yard. So we have lots and lots of mosquitoes!

Mosquito preditors: I never knew there was a mosquitofish!
Home pest control: I love that their insectiside leaves no residue!
I’ll have to tell my mom about the mosquitofish that I read about on Ecosmart’s blog. She had some waterplants in a large tub in her garden, and she bought some goldfish to eat the larvae. Well, the goldfish kept disappearing. I don’t know if birds ate them or cats got them or what. Maybe the mosquitofish would have a better chance.
